11. WebAlias Usage Statistics
WebAlias Usage Statistics
Depending on who hosts your website, you may have no other source for statistics like these - and we're happy to provide them totally free of charge (like every other benefit of membership at The WebAlias Network).
At 1 a.m. every morning (New York time), our system crunches all of the data from the prior day and puts this information online for you to view whenever you like.
To access your WebAlias usage statistics, simply click the View Statistics button and log into your account. You will then see a summary of the prior 5 days statistics. To see the details of any day's usage, simply press the button for that date.
How Accurate are the Usage Statistics?
What does the "IP of Visitor" field mean?
This field tells you the IP number of the person using your WebAlias. This IP number is assigned to the person by their internet service provider, such as America Online.
Please do not assume that you can take this information and track down each visitor - you cannot. IP numbers are often assigned dynamically, which means that you have a particular IP number only as long as the current internet session lasts, at which time it is reassigned to someone else.
The usefulness of this field is that it can give you a general idea of where your visitors are coming from. For example, 152.163.xxx.xxx is one of many IP numbers that only AOL users can have. So, when you see an IP number that starts with 152.163, you know that this person is an AOL user - but there is no way for you to know the name, email address, or other information about that particular person.
To further assure that the privacy of every visitor is secure, we drop the last portion of all IP numbers.
