4. Information About You and Your Website
a. Why do you ask for my email address?
We respect our members' desire for privacy, but we need your email address so we can keep you up-to-date on developments and improvements that affect your membership at The WebAlias Network. As we add features and benefits, we may ask that you update your account in order to take advantage of them.

Also, if you ever forget the password for your account at The WebAlias Network, we will need to respond to you via the email account in your account information. In certain extreme cases, we may be forced to send email notices that require a response or else risk account termination. If we can't notify you in such a situation, your membership at The WebAlias Network will be in obvious jeopardy.

b. What if I give you a phony email address?
If we don't have a valid email address where we can reach you, your account will be deleted.

c. Why do you suggest I include a description of my website?
There are several reasons:
First, the description of your website you provide in your account information is displayed to every person who uses your WebAlias immediately prior to actually entering your website. In this situation, a description is an effective tool to generate interest and provide information.

Second, because people can search our Directory of member sites for websites of interest to them, if you don't provide a description, you greatly reduce the chance that your website will be part of their search results.

d. Why do I need to tell you what topics my website focuses on?
Again, there are several reasons:
First, many people like to browse through our popular Directory of member sites based on topics or categories of interest. Therefore, the more topics you indicate your website covers, the more places your listing will appear in our directory, and therefore, the more visitors you'll get to your website.

Second, our free advertising system uses the topics you have specified to target the free advertising of your WebAlias to those people most likely to be interested your website. In this way, you can get the greatest response possible to the free advertising you get on The WebAlias Network.

e. I've forgotten my WebAlias account password - what should I do?
Simply email us at lostpassword@webalias.com from the email address you specified in your WebAlias Network account, tell us you lost your password and what your WebAlias is, and we will email your password to the email address we have on file for you.
